Special Voters' Meeting

The Holy Cross Church Council has called a Special Voters' Meeting on Sunday, October 3 after 2nd service so that the School Board can present the School's 5 Year Mission, Vision, Objectives (MVO) for congregational approval.  This is an important part of the accreditation process for Holy Cross.

Coffee Hour Change

Coffee Hour with beverages only has started up again. The decision was made by the Ladies' Circles/Groups to discontinue serving food.  Only beverages will be served for Coffee Hour - regular and decaf coffee, and a beverage for the children.  (An added benefit of this change is the lines to get beverages will move faster and allow you to get to Bible Study sooner.)

Bethany Auxiliary

Dear ELS members and past attendees of the Bethany Auxiliary,

We are looking forward to hosting Auxiliary Day on Monday, September 27 at Bethany Lutheran College. We have a number of interesting presentations arranged for you to learn more about what’s happening on the Bethany campus.

We also understand that there are now some reservations about attending an event in person given the current circumstances with the pandemic.

In order for the College to prepare for Auxiliary Day in light of the COVID-19 situation, we’re asking for those intending to come to Bethany for Auxiliary Day to please RSVP. This will help Bethany prepare food and arrange meeting rooms for the day.

Would you please call our Advancement Office at 507-344-7749, or send an email to lance.schwartz@blc.edu with your RSVP by September 15, 2021.

Twice is Nice

Shop: Fall brings sweater weather and seasonal home décor opportunities, and Twice is Nice can help you with that. Plus, a sneak preview of some Christmas items will be on the sales floor Monday, October 4, and an amazing full variety of all things Christmas is ready for purchase Monday, October 11 at 10 am! We’re easy-to-find and open Mondays-Saturdays from 10-4 PM: just a minute or so east on the Hwy 18 exit off the 26 bypass at 907 W. Racine St., next to the Jefferson Piggly Wiggly.

Volunteer: Toward this goal, the weekend of October 9-10 is Christmas changeover. We hope to see old and new faces who will help us get a higher than ever amount of Christmas inventory on the floor—LLHS parents and teens, grandparents, friends, groups from Federated congregations—you’re all needed! Beginning 4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 9, the shelves get stripped of merchandise and washed, several hours of work for many hands. Then starting at 8 am on Sunday, Oct. 10, we begin to merchandise Christmas items—an all-day, come-when-you-can for as long as you can. Lunch will be provided Sunday. Enter via the back-donation doors either day. Call the store at 920-674-6868 during open hours or email info@twiceisnice.shop to let managers know you plan to help. THANK YOU!
