Mother's Day is Coming... What's the Best Parenting Advice You've Received?
There have been a number of people in life who have either demonstrated or shared this important piece of parenting advice that I have kept on my heart. In our confessional Lutheran understanding of Scripture, we treasure a right understanding of the importance of God’s law and gospel. Yet I must admit that my tendency is to lean on the law side of my parenting approach. The encouragement that I have received, and try to pass on to others, is not to neglect the importance of the gospel. The pure understanding that I am forgiven, a saint, a new creation through the work of Christ is what sets my heart looking for ways to demonstrate my love for God—not because I have to, should, or must, but because I can’t help but look for opportunities to be thankful. This is our treasure! Don’t leave it to a chance understanding for your kids. Live in joy with your children and be intentional in sharing the gospel with them so they too can be motivated by Christ’s love.

Sign Up Not Required for Worship Services
Some of our members who have recently been vaccinated and are ready to come back to in-person church have been asking if you need to sign-up to attend church services. This is just a reminder that there is no need to sign up before coming to Sunday or Monday church There’s plenty of room for you to come. The most recent Dane County order no longer has capacity restrictions for worship services. Masks, however, are still required. We would love to have you join us!

Mission Offering Challenge Update and Matching Donor!
This past fall the Board of Elders challenged the congregation to donate $25,000 to missions outside of our church budget.
We're now kicking off our final challenge to reach our $25,000 goal! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to purchase live stream and video conferencing equipment for our sister syond in Chile. The equipment would be housed in the congregation in Santiago, where the synod president is pastor. This would enable them to livestream church services and do remote seminary teaching, video conferencing with church leaders, etc.
MATCHING GIFT! A Member has graciously offered to match contributions to this campaign dollar for dollar up to $5,000. So, if the congregation donates $5,000, the matching donor will donate another $5,000 and we'll reach our goal of $10,000! Thanks so much to our matching donor!
Please prayerfully consider giving to this challenge to help spread the Word in Chile! Thank you!

VBS - Make an Impact
Vacation Bible School makes an impact on kids's lives. How about helping make an impact this year! VBS will be July 6-9 (Tuesday - Friday). While we've already got most of our teaching staff, our craft leader and our music leader in place, they could use helpers. If you're willing to help with crafts, music, recess or in the classroom, please email Jodi at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
VBS - Snacks During Covid
Any other year we would be asking you to help make and bring snacks for VBS. We always get such a good group of snack volunteers. However, due to Covid, we'll have to provide all of the snacks ourselves using our food service director. If you would be willing to help by making a small monetary donation to help us purchase snacks for VBS, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Bring your family and friends to Holy Cross on Friday, June 11, 4pm - 7pm. We'll have a petting zoo outside as well as sub sandwiches, chips and cookies for everyone. Come and have some good Christian fellowship! Bring a friend and introduce them to the Holy Cross campus.
