Learning doesn't just take place in the classroom. To help our students discover their individual talents and abilities and foster a well-rounded education, we provide a number of extra-curricular activities.
In addition to regular physical education classes and intramural sports, Holy Cross School provides opportunities for girls and boys in grades 4-8 to participate in a variety of sports programs throughout the school year:
- Cross Country
Students at Holy Cross have a number of options to explore their musical abilities. Piano lessons, band, choir and bell choir are offered during the school day. The students perform at the Capitol and local senior living residences, and for school concerts and athletic events.
Art classes are held during the school day, but there are additional events where students can showcase their artistic talents. Holy Cross School regularly participates in a Visual Arts Fair with other area Lutheran schools and also welcomes students to help with the annual yearbook.
Grades 3-8 are invited to tune their strategic and problem-solving skills by learning and practicing the challenging game of chess. Students participate in games against each other during this after- school activity.
